Trip Report Walt Disney World 2015 February-March Day 3&4

Day 3 - Looking for characters at Hollywood Studios

We don't wanna grow up!
We still have a little jetleg, woke up at 6:30AM. But we didn't need to rush, even though we had an early FP+ for Toy Story Mania. Since we were already in the Pixar area, we decided to say hello to Woody and Buzz! I really like what they did to the queue, you get entertained by it.

An American lady said that they really enjoyed watching the interaction with the characters and their fans. They do something different with everyone. I brought my character autograph book, and Buzz slammed his stamp on it, which resulted in that it became blurry. He was a bit ashamed of that.

Outside was a green army man, we have never met them before. So that was nice. The same for Mike. We do have Sully in Disneyland Paris, but Mike is just a statue over there.

Lunchtime! We got a free Dining Plan (Quick Service) when we booked our holiday. After this lunch, we decided we would share our 1 credit during lunch, because the meals were so big, we couldn't even finish it.
One Sloppy Burger and a Princess cupcake!

We saw the stuntshow, it still is a lot of talking, but it is a bit more spectaculair than DLP. (When you've been to both parks, you keep comparing them.) I liked the part with the jetskis!

I am a member of a Dutch Disney forum, named Cafe Mickey Forum. We read that in an ally nearby the Tower of Terror at 2.45/3.45/4.45PM there would be characters. But is a bit blocked from the main public. If you're not looking into that direction, you could miss it. And there were a lot of characters! In 15minutes time we met Tiana, Aladdin, Genie, Stitch, Evil Queen and Mulan.
Tiana loves cooking and ask if I knew any New Orleans dishes. Of course I know Jambalaya!
Jasmin said that The Netherlands must have been a long carpet ride from here! And that we should race something. The winner would ge a golden camel!

We said hello to Phinead & Ferb. I have never watched the shows, but my sister insisted that I would have a page for them in my character book, because she knew you could meet them in WDW!

Where's Perry?
We walked through the Streets of America, and there was a helicopter! There was a sort of special event, you could not walk through it. There were people in fancy clothes and tables, and a lot of fresh flowerd. I have no idea what the event was for.

Because the real action movie Cinderella was released, her carriage was there.

Day 3 How many eggs have you eaten today? Magic Kingdom

Yeeey! I have eaten my first Mickey Waffle! Always wanted one, but I think it a bit expensive for what you are getting. But with the dining plan I had no worries about that.

On our third day we visited Magic Kingdom. First stop: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We haven't done this coaster before, what a beautiful ride it is! It runs so steady, and the technology is amazing! A real must do! It is almost like the dwarfs are really there, to see their faces moves is just incredible.

And of course we had to visit Gaston! The conversations are hilarious! All the villians share a page in my book, so he shared the page with Frodo.

"Why do I have to share the page with this dude? It is the ugliest guy I have ever seen!"

Gaston: How many eggs have you eaten today?
John: One. (He had an omelette, but he said one :P)
Gaston: One?! How can you become big and strong with just one egg?!

Gaston: How many eggs have you eaten today?
Lennart: None.
Gaston: None?! That's even worse than this guy!
Lennart: But I had a salad.
Gaston: A salad, where is the protein in that?

Some other characters that we have met!

We decided that we would go to our hotel to relax a bit. On our way to the exit, we saw a little part of the most beautiful parade! We wanted to see the Electrical Parade, so in the mean time, we stayed at out hotel, relaxed a bit.

What I didn't expect was that the face characters were interactive! Some really talked to the crowd. It just magical!

After this we went to Epcot. We have never seen the fireworks, because we are always finished at 5/6PM, and don't want to wait until the fireworks. This is the first time that we stayed at a Disney Resort hotel, and it makes it easier to go there in the afternoon. In Epcot was the Flower and Garden Festival, a very nice addition to the park.

Trip Report Walt Disney World 2015 February-March Day 1&2

We went to Walt Disney World in 2015, from February 28th till March 14th. We flew from Amsterdam to Dublin, and from Dublin to Orlando International Airport with Air Lingus. The was our first stay on Disney property, we stayed for 5 days at the Caribbean Beach Resort. This is my Trip Report about this adventure!

Day 1 - Home Sweet Home

We left on Friday to stay at a hotel nearby Schiphol Airport. My company are my parents, my sister and her boyfriend, and my boyfriend John. It was John's first time to fly to America, so he was a little bit nervous about it. On saturday morning, 6:15AM we checked out from our hotel, and a shuttle bus brought us to the Airport. We had a stop over at Dublin, and that's were the trouble started. My Dad had an 0 in his pasport numbre, and the lady thought it was an O. She didn't give my Dad his boarding pass because of that. "It can happen that someones is being declined", she said. We had to register for a new ESTA form, but we weren't allowed to use a computer, so we had to do this on a mobile phone. Not ideal... The lady checked again, and she still saw that he was declined. "It can take up to 24hours before approval". But we don't have 24hours, we only have 2 hours left to catch our next flight! Again, we said it was a zero, and not an O. She checked again. "Yes, it is approved, Daddy can go!"
That was very nervewrecking! Good thing we had 3 hours to catch our next flight, because of this we already lost 1 hour.
I will spare the other details, something about that the gate would close, but didn't, so we rushed for nothing.

After the second flight, which took 7 hours, we arrived at Orlando International Airport. We had booked the Disney Magical Express, and it was wonderfull! At the check-in the people were smiling, and making you feel at home already! We were so tired, that we forgot to take a picture of the Magical Express. So here's a photo from google ;-)

The Magical Express dropped us of at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. We were pleasantly supprised by the bell boys! What a luxury to not have to carry your own luggage! But we also felt a bit embarrased to tell you the truth, we have never experienced this!

Day 2 - Animal Kingdom "Birdie what are you doing?"

Well hello jetleg! We woke up at 5:30AM, and we were lucky that the food court was open early. We had a nice walk from Jamaica, building 41, to Old Port Royale Centertown.

Nice warm weather, a walk by the water, yes, this is vacation! I just love American breakfast, so I chose the bounty platter: scrumbled eggs, bacon and pancakes!

After a lovely breakfast we went to Animal Kingdom. We had our fastpass+ reservations made, so our first stop would be Kilimanjaro Safari. I love that attraction, seeing the animals so up close and to not see any gates and stuff. We went on an early morning safari, so a lot of animals were out there! And we had such a lovely driver, who knew where the gaspendal was, so to say, haha. We were lifted off our seats, whiieee! So much fun!

Next stop: Expedition Everest! Fortunally, we only had to "wait" 5 min, thanks to Fastpass+. We did manage to escape from the Yeti again, it was time for some refreshments! My brother-in-law wanted the Ice tea, and boy, that was litterly iced tea! We poored 5 bags of sugar in it, and it still tasted like old cold tea.... Wouldn't chose that again!

We saw the beautiful show Flights of Wonder, that tour guide always makes me laugh. "Follow the flaaaaaag!" Briljant!

Character time! We saw Baloo & King Louis, Mickey & Minnie and Russell & Dug! Russell loved my digital autograph book which I made myself.

I just let the photos speak for itself.

"What would you like to see on this Safari?"

"An ice bear!"

Birdie, what are you doing?

We had dinner at our resort. We were pretty tired after this first day. But I love Animal Kingdom! I dare to say that it's my favorite park: there are animals (lots of them!), characters meetings, lovely places to eat, lots of green in the parc, and it doesn't feel like you're in this gigantic theme park.

What's your favorite Disney park?

First blog! My Personal Records so far

Hi there!

This is my very first blog! I really enjoy reading blogs about run Disney, and since I am going to do the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon Weekend in September, I thought: "Why would'nt I make a blog myself?".

My first blog is about my Personal Records. I am not the fastest runner, let me say that first. My goal right now is to run a Half Marathon. When I have done that, then I want to become faster. First endurance, then speed.

5K 32:02 (Dorpsloop De Lutte, 9th of July 2016)
10K 1:00:28 (Twentse Vrouwenloop, 19th of June 2016)

I have to say, I don't think that the "Twentse Vrouwneloop" was exact 10K. I believe it was around 9.3km. So I in the books this is my 10K PR, but in my heart is it 1:06:42 during the Dom Verdanloop, on 26th of June 2016.
